Meadow Links & Golf Academy

The Meadow Links 9-hole course is a par 31 with five par 3's and four par 4's. Three sets of tees ranging between 1,285 and 2,100 total yardage allow the course to be easily enjoyed by beginning golfers while challenging those that have more experience.

The 360 degree circular design of the practice facility has consistently been ranked one of the Top 50 in the country by Golf Range Magazine. The unique design of the natural turf practice area offers the opportunity to work on different types of golf shots. Whether it's your driver, long irons, chipping, pitching, up down and side hill lies, natural turf practice area offers it all. The covered and heated driving range provides for year-round practice, and the program center allows PGA professionals to work with individuals or groups in a fun and non-intimidating atmosphere.

Matt Starr Matt is a Certified PGA Professional in Teaching & Coaching, Player Development, Golf Operations and General Management, he has been the Head Golf Professional at Meadow Links since 2005. As a PGA professional, Matt tries to make sure his students build a solid framework of the fundamentals while practicing and playing. Realizing that each student is different and unique, he tries to help each student meet and achieve their individual goals. Matt has worked with a variety of players ranging in skill and knowledge of the game, but truly enjoys his work with junior golfers. Matt is also the Head Women’s Golf Coach at Sycamore High School. For his work to grow the game for many demographics of golfers Matt has been recognized by the Southern Ohio PGA as the Golf Professional of the Year 2023, Player Development Award winner 2011, 2016, 2019, Youth Player Development Award 2009, 2017, 2022 and Patriot Award for work with Military Veterans in 2022. Matt has also been recognized as a Golf Range of America Top 100 Growth of the Game Teaching Professional in 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023.

Jeff Steinberg Jeff's philosophy is to lead and encourage each student in the pursuit of their best game. His approach is to instruct and coach each student, starting with their weakest fundamentals. Jeff became a professional in March of 1970, has been a PGA member since 1973 and played the PGA tour from 1973–1975. He then served Berkleigh Country Club, Metropolis Country Club and NCR Country Club as Head Professional. Jeff's teaching influences include Ernest Jones, Ernie Vossler, Jim Flick, Harvey Penick, Joe Nichols, John Gerring, Gary Hardin and Ed Oldfield.

Scott Nevius Scott is a PGA Associate Professional. He is a 2003 graduate of Xavier University and was a four year varsity p0layer as a high school golfer. Scott brings a laid back approach to the game of golf and feels that it is an honor to share his love of the game with others. With over a decade of basketball coaching experience, Scott brings the same philosophies to teaching/coaching golf. he puts an emphasis on fundamentals, skill development, and decision making. Scott would like to pass on the wisdom that his dad shared with him, that golf is a game and you are supposed ot have fun with it!

Meadow Links offers a Junior League Series for golfers ages 7-15. The main goals are to have fun, develop golf skills and enjoy friendly competition with players of similar ages and abilities. Each division in the league has six separate events, and players will also earn points towards a "Player of the Year" award. Meadow Links offers a wide variety of league opportunities for all levels of abilities. From social leagues to competitive leagues, junior leagues to senior leagues, you will surely find a league to fit your needs. Leagues are a great venue to not only enjoy the game of golf and get some exercise, but also to meet and make new friends.

Meadow Links & Golf Academy is home to one of the largest teaching staff of PGA Professionals in the city! Students will learn the fundamentals of golf, including swing techniques for a variety of shots, course management, rules and etiquette.

Adult Lessons

Long considered the “Gateway to Golf,” Meadow Links offers a variety of lesson programs for golfers of all abilities. Newcomers will enjoy the Welcome to Golf Orientation, a free one-hour program that features a tour of the nationally recognized facility and information about all of the lesson programs. The Spring Refresher classes are a great way to kick start the season. Sessions of Beginning Golf I and II, as well as Intermediate Golf, are offered several times throughout the season. It’s time to play better golf!

Junior Lessons

At Meadow Links, the focus on instruction begins with the junior golfer. Free junior clinics introduce novices to the game and prepare them for Junior Golf I, a three-week session where students learn the fundamentals of golf. The Junior Golf Academy provides summer long instruction, including thirty sessions offered at various times and days. The three and four-day golf classes provide more in-depth instruction and are excellent preparation for playing with junior high and high school golf teams.

Private Lessons

Private lessons for the beginner offer a personalized way of learning the proper fundamentals of the swing, techniques for various shot and information on how to play the game. For the more experienced player, our PGA professionals will analyze your swing, focusing on problem areas and demonstrating techniques to improve all aspects of your game. Playing lessons are conducted on the golf course, focusing on course management, rules etiquette, care of the course, club selection and shot selection. FlightScope

FlightScope Lesson
FlightScope golf lessons help golfers improve their impact awareness by providing precise information to improve their game. This state-of-the-art technology provides golfers with detailed information on their golf swing and the flight of the golf ball after impact. FlightScope uses Dop­pler Radar to record 3D data on club path, face angle and angle of attack. It also records data on golf ball flight, measuring distance and trajectory of shots. Ladies Day
Mondays & Wednesdays ladies receive two admissions for $17 on the natural turf practice area.

Kids Practice Free
Junior golfers under the age of 18 practice for free at the natural turf practice area when accompanied by a paying parent or grandparent. Limit one child per paying parent.

Meadow Links & Golf Academy offers a variety of tournaments for players of all ages and abilities. Mom or dad can compete with their child in the Spring Parent/Child. Juniors ages 7–17 will have fun playing in the Spring Two Junior Scramble event. The whole family will enjoy playing nine holes in the Family Scramble. Celebrate Father’s Day with the Father/Child tournament in June. Grandparents can get in on the fun with the Grandparent/Grandchild held in July.

PGA Junior League Golf is a “Little League” atmosphere for the game of golf. With teams of boys and girls, age 13 and under, PGA Junior League Golf provides a structured environment utilizing a team scramble format for young golfers of all skill levels to compete and have fun. All participants play in each regular season competition from May-June. This is a great way to get, and keep, kids involved in the game!
