2025 Great Parks Trail Challenge

Ready for a new adventure? Whether trekking solo, in a group or alongside a furry friend, the fifth annual Great Parks Trail Challenge helps participants achieve their goals while exploring the great outdoors!
Take on this challenge and connect with a vibrant virtual community to gain trekking tips, enhance outdoor awareness and make new friends! Participants of all ages are welcome to join the fun at their own pace.
Complete the challenge by Dec. 31, reaching one, two or all three milestones:
- Trek seven different Great Parks trails
- Complete 50 miles
- Log a hike or run at all 15 participating Great Parks destinations
Participants gain access to the exclusive Great Parks Trail Challenge Facebook group. Not on Facebook? Share your achievements on Instagram using the hashtag #GPTrailChallenge.
End-of-Season Raffle:
To enter, submit a Trail Log by Dec. 31. Participants earn one raffle entry for logging their miles, with additional entries for each milestone completed. Winners are notified via email.
Highlight Your Achievements
Starting in 2025, the Great Parks Trail Challenge features a historically rich incentive. Participants who complete and log seven different trails are eligible to purchase an official hiking medallion, a Great Parks tradition for 45 years.
For those aiming for a greater challenge, the prestigious title of Great Parks Master Hiker is earned by hiking and logging all trails listed in the Trail Log. Participants who achieve this milestone are eligible to purchase the exclusive Master Hiker medallion.
Hiking achievements can be proudly displayed by attaching medallions to a hiking staff, available for purchase at any Nature’s Niche gift shop location.

*Paid participants receive a 30-ounce Great Parks silicone water bottle by mail. Those who register with their pets receive a water bottle and a one-liter Great Parks silicone dog bowl for their four-legged friend (while supplies last).
A valid Motor Vehicle Permit is required for vehicle entry at all Great Parks destinations, except Otto Armleder Memorial Park and Fernbank Park, which are co-managed by Great Parks, the Cincinnati Park Board and the Cincinnati Recreation Commission.
