Friday, June 21 from 9 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. - Ohio River Music Festival
Saturday, June 22 beginning at 6:30 a.m. - Paddlefest & Pedalfest
Cincinnati's very own Paddlefest
is one of the largest events of its
kind in the Midwest, and possibly
the nation. Nowhere else
can you find over 2,000 canoers
and kayakers on the water, at the
same time, having so much fun!
And nowhere else can your family enjoy an Ohio
River Music & Outdoor Festival, a Kids Outdoor
Adventure Expo and a Pedalfest bike ride, all in a
matter of three days. It's truly an amazing summer
adventure!
Kids Outdoor Adventure Expo
All the outdoor excitement kicks off June 20
with the award-winning Kids Outdoor Adventure
Expo at Coney Island, which is one of the
largest collaborations for youth environmental
education in the country. Over 5,000 people
are expected to attend this year to experience
more than 40 environmental and outdoor organizations
providing nature education through
interactive games, activities and presentations.
Themes will include water quality, renewable
energy, pollution, aquatic habitats, recycling,
wildlife, plants and more. This year, the Kids
Expo will be organized into four separate villages
to inspire exercise and outdoor adventure, appropriately
named "Let's Move!", "Let's Explore!",
Let's Splash!" and "Let's Be Green!" Some of the organizations taking part in the 8th
annual Kids Outdoor Adventure Expo are Great
Parks of Hamilton County, Green Umbrella,
General Electric, Ohio Department of Natural
Resources and REI.
Ohio River Music Festival
Get yourself hyped for the Saturday float with a
party at Coney Island on Friday, June 21! Bring
the family, enjoy some live music, have a cold
beverage and check out Gearfest, contests, races,
demos and more. Registration for Paddlefest and
Pedalfest will be open that night. Bring your canoe
or kayak and have it ready for the next morning.
Paddlefest
Join the largest paddling event in the Midwest
with more than 2,200 paddlers making their
annual trek down the Ohio River. On Saturday,
June 22, paddle the 8.2-mile float trip, take part
in the 11-mile canoe and kayak race or be part
of the 5-mile Stand Up Paddleboard (SUP) race.
Be sure to stop by the Gold Star Chili Finish Line
Festival at Yeatman's Cove and celebrate your
journey with live music, food and fun!
Pedalfest
For those who prefer travel on two wheels, join
the second annual Pedalfest for a 8.9-mile trek
along the Ohio River. The route will begin and
end at Yeatman's Cove and travel through beautiful
parks around Cincinnati.
If that's not enough, there is an option to participate
in the 8.9-mile bike ride, get off at Coney
Island, and paddle the 8.2-mile Paddlefest trip!
