 The New Curious Naturalist Club!
Do you know a 7-12 year old that loves to climb trees, explore outside, or just enjoys nature? Why not consider signing him or her up for the Hamilton County Park District's Curious Naturalist Club - a club just for 7-12 year olds that encourages participants and their families to engage in the outdoors through fun and educational activities. Participation in the club includes:
- Free magnifying glass for joining
- A birthday card with a free surprise
- On-line access to CNC website
- Special, "members only" programs at reduced rates. Programs in 2009 include a twilight bike ride, archery, and others.
- Lots of on-line activities to help your child explore the Hamilton County Park District in fun and exciting ways.
- A quarterly newsletter, accessible on-line.
- Prizes for completing different numbers of activities, including naturalist-led programs.
When your child joins, they'll receive an email with the most recent CNC newsletter, a coupon for a free magnifying glass, and a password to access the CNC website. On the website, they'll gain access to the downloadable activities that encourage them to explore and learn about the outdoors. Some of the activities include:
- Observe an animal in its habitat and creat a journal to record observations.
- Interview a park employee and learn about their job.
- Go fishing.
- Learn archery.
- Have a picnic lunch and invite some ants.
- Attend naturalist-led programs.
- Hit a bucket of balls at a driving range.

How to Register
To sign up your 7-12 year old for the Curious Naturalist Club, click here. An initial one-time registration fee of $10 per child covers all program costs and is good for the entire time that the child participates. Once registered, access to the members-only CNC website will be available starting January 1, 2009.
Existing Member? - Log In
Already participating in the original CNC program? Don't worry! Those with a partially completed CNC program card can still complete the card for the button. However, no new cards will be issued. Those currently participating in the CNC program will need to register and pay the $10 fee if they wish to particpate in the new CNC.
