Boating Rules
Ohio boating laws must be followed at all times.
Flotation Devices
• A lifejacket is required for each person boarding any boat.
• Lifejackets must be worn at all times on any canoe, kayak or paddleboard.
• Lifejackets must be worn at all times by any child younger than 10 years old.
• Seat cushions provided are not intended for use as a floatation device and are not approved for that purpose.
Personal Watercraft
Guests may bring their own boats to the following Great Parks destinations. Non-motorized canoes, kayaks and paddle boards only unless otherwise noted.
- Campbell Lakes
- Lake Isabella: Kayaks are permitted on Tuesdays only. All other boats must be rented from the Boathouse.
- Little Miami Scenic Corridor
- Miami Whitewater Forest: Canoes, kayaks, paddle boards and motorized boats up to 4 hp are permitted. Guests must be able to carry their boats to and from the parking lot (no boat ramp available).
- Otto Armleder Memorial Park
- Sharon Woods: Currently closed to the public. Learn more
