What happens at a Children’s Celebration?
After greeting the guests, payment will be taken for any children between the ages 1-12 that are attending the celebration who were not paid for in advance. Wristbands will be distributed to all participants so they may enjoy the activities and goodies. We are in each area approximately ½ hour depending on the weather and the attention span of the group.
Celebrations: There are 3 organized activities led by your party host. We will tour the animal barn to have hands-on interaction with farm animals. We will then head to the Playbarn where the children can climb, slide and enjoy a variety of fun activities. Finally we will end in the Children’s Celebration room to open presents (if applicable), have cupcakes, ice cream and a juice box.
May I bring extra party favors, goody bags or a piñata?
Each guest will go home with a Parky’s Farm keepsake cup. You may bring extra goodies or goody bags. If you would like to bring a piñata there is a place to hang it in the Children’s Celebration party room. Please do not put any powdered candies or liquid items in the piñata.
May I bring food other than chips or pretzels to the party?
Finger foods such as, snacks, extra cupcakes/cake and beverages are acceptable. We discourage bringing food like pizza or meals because they require more time to sit and eat. If you want to bring these types of food either one of the activities will need to be eliminated or you could opt to purchase additional party time at $110 for a total of 3 hours. We do not have a microwave, refrigerator or freezer space. The party will still begin and end at the designated time. Please talk to the Children’s Celebration Coordinator to discuss other alternatives. ALCOHOL IS STRICTLY PROHIBITED
Is there anything that I need to bring?
If you want to bring food or drinks for your guests you will need to bring your own plates, napkins, cups, utensils, condiments, etc. You may bring balloons, party hats, party favors, goody bags, table top decorations (nothing to put on the wall), a piñata, and table covers. There are four 60” round tables provided.
What size cake will I receive and how many people does it serve?
We offer a farm themed cake made up of 24 cupcakes.
May I specify the type of cake that I would like? (Chocolate, Kosher, Pokémon)
The same farm themed cake is ordered for every celebration. It is made of yellow cupcakes with multicolored icing. Farm animals (horse, cow, chicken and pig) decorate the top of some of the cupcakes. If a guest has a particular need, they may bring their own cake in addition to the cupcakes that are provided. They would still receive our farm themed cupcakes. The cupcakes are prepared by Graeter’s. If there are concerns as to allergies, etc, and you feel that it is necessary to check on the specific ingredients, please call Graeter’s and they will be glad to assist you.
My child loves Pokémon. May we have a Pokémon theme party?
In order to insure the high quality of our parties, we only offer a farm themed party. If you would like to bring different themed plates, napkins, hats, balloons, a piñata or favors, you may do so. Please do not bring any decoration that needs to be hung on the wall. You may bring an extra cake with a different theme; however, there is no discount on your party package. You will still receive our farm themed cupcakes and may use it on site or take it home.
May we go back into the Playbarn after the celebration?
If the Playbarn is still open to the public after your celebration, you may return to the Playbarn. Just show your wristband to our cashier at the ticket booth and have your hand stamped. However, if the Playbarn is closed to the public, then you may not re-enter the Playbarn.
What types of animals are at Parky’s Farm in the winter?
Farm animals are at the farm year round. Under normal situations, your child may expect to have hands-on interaction with three of these animals at his/her celebration. We cannot guarantee a visit with a particular animal. Which animals we use that day will depend on the availability of the animal.
If I pay extra may I extend the length of my party?
Parties are scheduled in 1 ½ hour increments which may be extended to a total of 3 hours at a cost of $110 for the additional 1 ½ hours.
Is the Playbarn heated/air-conditioned?
The Playbarn is not heated; however, most children do not mind the cold if they layer their clothing. We do not ask them to remove their shoes in winter. Although the Playbarn is not air conditioned in the summer we use a Port-A-Cool fan. Since the Playbarn is indoors, the children are shielded from the elements outside.
May I arrive at the party early?
If you have food to unload or party favors to bring in, you may arrive up to fifteen minutes early; however, the party will begin and end at the scheduled time.
May I tip the Birthday Party Host?
As governmental employees, the staff of the Hamilton County Park District (Parky’s Farm) is prohibited by law from accepting any type of tip. Donations to the Park District are gratefully accepted. These can be earmarked for Parky’s Farm and are fully tax deductible to the extent allowed by law.
