Registration

Great Parks of Hamilton County will accept registration for summer day camps starting February 10, 2014. Spring Break Horseback Riding Day Camp registration opens January 6, 2014, and summer Horseback Riding Day Camp registration opens February 10, 2014.

  • Early Bird Registration: Register by March 31, 2014, and pay the Early Bird price. Pay the regular price if registering on or after April 1, 2014. Early Bird pricing applies to all camps except Horseback Riding Camps.
  • All fees must be paid at the time of registration.Space is limited, and registrations are accepted on a first-come-first-served basis. If a camp is full, you can call 513-521-7275, ext. 240, to be placed on a waiting list.
  • Letters with specific camp information will be emailed prior to the start of the camp.
  • Any camp that does not meet a minimum participation requirement will be cancelled. Every effort will be made to place a child in a similar camp. All fees will be refunded if a camp is cancelled. Please review our Program Fees & Cancellation Policies
  • Camps are specifically designed for the age group listed. We cannot accept children, including siblings, who are too young or too old for the camps.
  • A valid Great Parks of Hamilton County Motor Vehicle Permit ($3 daily, $10 annual) is required to enter the parks.
  • After registering for a camp, please complete and return the Day Camp Medical Form at least two weeks before the first day of camp.

Great Outdoors Camp - FULL

Description: Five fabulous days in the park! Enjoy the different outdoor experiences of Winton Woods and a visit to Miami Whitewater Forest. You’re All Wet - FULL

Description: Cool off this summer at a camp that is guaranteed to get you wet! Challenge yourself to all sorts of water activities including canoeing, kayaking, fishing, creeking and other water related activities. We’ll visit wetlands, catch aquatic critters and explore many water habitats throughout Great Parks of Hamilton County. 

Ultimate Challenge Camp

Description: It’s a fast-paced, three-day adventure in Winton Woods! Campers will be challenged with individual sports such as archery, golfing, rock wall climbing and kayaking. You will also be challenged with team-building and partnered activities such as a low ropes course and canoeing. 

Kayak Camp - FULL
Ages: 11–15

Description: This camp is all about paddling! Join our American Canoe Association (ACA) certified instructor and staff on a three-day exploration into the world of water sports! The first two days will be spent learning and practicing our kayak skills on Winton Lake. On the third day of camp, we will take a river trip to the Little Miami River. 

Archery Camp
Ages: 12–17

Description: Certified archery instructors will cover archery basics using a compound bow during this two day camp. This program will cover basic instruction, with tournament style shooting and many fun archery games.

Survival Camp
Ages: 12–17

Description: Do you have the skills to survive in the wilderness? Learn to create water “out of thin air,” start a fire, build a shelter, create a snare and signal for help, just to name a few. Campers will be provided with a fire-starter that will be theirs to keep after camp concludes. 

Kayak Fishing Camp - CANCELED
Ages: 16 and up
Location: Winton Woods/Harbor
Date & Time: July 14–16, 6–9 p.m.

Description: This one-of-a-kind, three-day course will teach the basic skills needed to paddle a kayak and fish from a personal craft on flat, slow-moving water. Course participants will have to opportunity to learn about the necessary equipment, paddling and fishing techniques and have the opportunity to test their newly found skills. This course will be taught, in part, by an American Canoe Association (ACA) certified instructor.

Sharon Woods

Awesome Animals - FULL

Description: We'll explore and discover our native wildlife. Bugs, birds, snakes and frogs are a few of the many animals your child will experience. Listen to bird calls, feel a snake and touch a turtle on this woodland adventure. A tasty snack will be provided.

Circle of Life

Description: Children will get up-close with snake eggs, live frogs and many more animals during camp. Through these hands on activities, hiking, pond exploration and crafts your child will have fun while learning the life cycles of various animals. A tasty snack will be provided.

Description: Get ready to go exploring! Whether we are winding through forests or splashing through creeks, this camp will be full of adventure! Nature, Strange, but True?

Description: The wild is a weird and wonderful place, and we hear many stories about nature that seem too good to be true. Campers will learn the truth to many nature myths while hiking, rolling over logs and getting up close and personal with live animals. We’ll design experiments, make crafts, and discover how amazingly strange nature can be. 

Creeks, Critters & Canoes
Ages: 10–13
Location: Sharon Woods/Sharon Centre

Description: Get hands-on with some of the animals found in our Great Parks. Catch crayfish at the creek. Investigate what could be under the rocks. Learn what the bizarre array of animals tells us about the health of our streams. Challenge yourself as we travel to Winton Woods for canoe instruction. On our last day, we’ll take what we learned and get an up close and personal look at our waterways by canoeing around Winton Lake.

Growing Up a Farm Kid - FULL

Description:  Get close to the farm animals and learn with your toddler or preschooler. Help with some simple farm chores, read stories, make crafts and play games. One parent or adult caregiver is required to stay and play and learn along with their preschooler.

Barnyard Friends - FULL

Description: If your preschooler loves animals and being outdoors this is the camp for them. We will spend four days exploring the farm while we feed the chickens, learn how to make butter, visit the pond, ride a pony, make crafts, play games and read stories. Campers will have hands on opportunities to discover and investigate in a safe, friendly and fun environment. This is a drop-off program where children learn about the farm with their peers and Parky's Farm staff.

Pony Camp - FULL

Junior Farmers - CANCELED

Description:  Help out around the farm by feeding animals, brushing and grooming ponies, scooping poop and learning how to care for all the critters. After all the chores are done, campers will have a chance to cool off at the creek, explore the woods and relax at the fishing pond. This is a drop-off program in which children learn about the farm with their peers and Parky's Farm staff.

Lake Isabella

Fishing Camp
Ages: 8–15
Location: Lake Isabella/Boathouse
Dates & Times: June 23-27, 8 a.m.–2 p.m.
Early Bird Price: $150
Regular Price: $170
Description: This camp covers topics for the beginning and intermediate angler. This week-long camp will consist of various fishing experts covering the following topics: fishing skills, fish biology, life skills, conservation and ethics. Cost includes lunch, bait and various fishing necessities. On the final day of camp, all campers will get a chance to apply everything they have learned, participate in a Fishing Camp Tournament and receive some great fishing prizes.
